  [combined.ged] He worked as a Wholesaler. He enjoyed boating and golfing. He was the pa st Commodore of the Cleveland Yachting Club. "In 1925, my brothers and I went 1400 miles down the Yukon River in a 22-f oot narrow canoe type boat called a 'poling boat' which was pointed at bo th ends so it could be pushed or poled up river. We spent three wee ks at Fort Yukon above the Arctic Circle. For many years we sailed the Gr eat Lakes and to Florida and back flying the Pelton coat of arms as our ho use or owners flag. My father once rode a solid steel bar bicycle from Gr and Rapids, MI to Richmond, Virginia.
