Ithamar was a fine mechanic and famous builder of his time. It is said th at me may have built 13 churches, including the Congregational church of E ssex, CT. He and his brother, Nathan, served in the "French War" under Ge n. Amherst. He may have also served in the war of the revolution as he w as at the burning of New London, CT.
