He worked as a shoemaker and farmer, living for a short time with his fath er and mother on the Pelton homestead in Darien, but finally sold i t. He then moved, with his brother John and their families to Warwick, Or ange, NY, coming by sloop owned by David Fancher, in Apr 1805, around by N ew York from Darien on the sound to New Windsor on the Hudson, and then ce to Warwick, about twenty-eight miles.
He bought the farm of John Blain, and afterward lands of Nathaniel Blain a nd others, which, in 1892, were owned by the hiers of William M. Sanfor d, and there he died. He was an elder in the Reformed Dutch Church in War wick for many years and an earnest supporter thereof.
