      He was a Lawyer. Florentine was a fluent speaker, with great readiness a nd ability in argument and debate, He left home early, and taught in N ew Jersey; studied in Wilbraham Academy and at Union College, NY, and th en read law with C. R. Train and at the law school of Harvard Universit y: practiced in Marlborough, MA and twelve years in Boston. In the yea rs preceding 1876, he dealt largely in real estate and built many hous es in Dorchester.
