    He may have moved to Lock Haven, PA with his mother and brothers, Ephra im and William after the death of his father. He was one of the Founde rs of the Center Hill Methodist Church. He had a dispute with the past or or deacons and vowed never to reenter the church. At his wife's funera l, he sat on the steps during the ceremony and then followed the processi on to the grave.
