He was a Blacksmith and a Farmer. He lived at Granville; removed to Blanf ord, MA about 1760, and soon after to Loudon, Now Otis, Berkshire, MA, whe re he was on of the early settlers. Here he lived until late in life, wh en he removed, with his son, James, to South Hero, Grand Isle, VT, whe re he died, Aug. 31, 1811.
NOTE: This branch of Pelton's is generally short of stature, thick-set, e nergetic and very active. Stephen Lawrence Pelton said his grandfather, E phraim, who he saw when he was about 16, Ephraim was about 5 feet 7 inch es tall, slender, of light complexion, and with dark gray eyes. He hea rd him say that his ancestors came from Wales, which may have been tr ue as to the port from which they sailed, but untrue as to their nationali ty.
